QuickLens Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for QuickLens
QuickLens is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we handle and how we protect it. We have a privacy-by-design approach, meaning your data security is our top priority.
What We DON’T Collect
No Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or user identities.
No Screenshot Storage: Screenshots captured for search are never stored on our servers or your device.
No Tracking: We do not track your browsing behavior, search queries, or usage patterns.
No Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics services.
How We Handle Your Data
Local Storage Only: We only store minimal data directly on your device using Chrome’s secure storage API. This data includes your settings (like Floating Window preference and keyboard shortcuts) and remains on your device at all times.
Screenshot Processing: When you trigger a search, the captured image is sent directly to Google Lens for processing. We act as a secure conduit; the image never passes through our servers or is stored by us.
Google Lens Integration: QuickLens integrates with Google’s Lens service for all visual search functionality. Your images are handled according to Google’s Privacy Policy, which you can review for their data handling practices.
Your Control & Transparency
Open Source: Our code is fully open source and auditable, so you can see exactly how we handle your data.
Full Control: You can clear all local settings by uninstalling the extension or disabling features in the options menu.
Minimal Permissions: We operate with only the permissions necessary for the stated functionality—no more.
